Upload an Asset

Structura lets creators upload engineering, architecture, and construction assets for subscribers to access. This guide explains how uploading works, what’s restricted, and how files are secured.

How uploading works

Uploading has two parts: public previews and gated deliverables. Here’s the standard flow.

STEP 1
Become a Creator
Creators can upload assets and earn from subscribers. If you’re not a creator yet, you’ll be prompted to enable creator mode in your account.
STEP 2
Add your asset details
Enter a clear title, summary, and category. Include software/version notes so subscribers know what they’re getting.
STEP 3
Upload preview images
Add a cover image and optional gallery images. Previews are used to showcase your work and help subscribers decide.
STEP 4
Upload deliverable files
Upload your CAD/BIM/3D/docs files (or a ZIP). Deliverables are protected and only accessible to eligible subscribers.
STEP 5
Set your pricing & publish
Choose your subscription price. Once published, your asset appears on your profile and in search/browse.
Tip: If you update an asset later, subscribers will see the latest version you publish.

Best practices (recommended)

Include a readme
Add a short PDF readme with software version, units, standards, layers, and instructions.
Use clean previews
A strong cover image improves conversions. Show the final output and one detail close-up.
Package multi-file deliverables as ZIP
If your asset needs textures, references, or multiple files, zip them together for easier download.
Only upload what you own
Make sure you have the rights to distribute the content. Don’t upload client IP without permission.

What we don’t allow

To keep Structura safe and trustworthy, we block certain file types and content. Uploads that violate these rules may be rejected or removed.

How we secure your files

Structura is designed so deliverable files aren’t publicly accessible. Access is controlled by authentication and subscription checks.

Private storage
Deliverables are stored in private object storage. Bucket paths aren’t exposed publicly.
Gated downloads
Downloads are served through a secure endpoint that checks access before delivering files.
Time-limited URLs
When we generate file URLs, they are signed and expire after a short period.
Auditability
We can log download activity to detect abuse and help creators understand performance.
Note: No platform can guarantee piracy prevention once a user legitimately downloads a file. Structura focuses on preventing unauthorized access and limiting abuse.
